Brussels, 18 January 2022 – For immediate release
The European Mortgage Federation (EMF) is pleased to announce that the Spanish Association for Value Analysis (AEV), has become the latest institution to join the Federation.
The Spanish Association for Value Analysis currently comprises 28 members, 22 appraisals companies and six real state consultancy firms, which combined perform 90% of the mortgage valuations carried out in Spain, all of them with an explicit vocation for professional independence and quality in their work. The AEV is also a member of The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), and the Spanish Mortgage Association (AHE).
Commenting on the AEV’s admission as a member, Luca Bertalot, EMF-ECBC Secretary General said:
“We are very pleased to welcome the Spanish Association for Value Analysis as an EMF member. Valuations have long been a cornerstone of the mortgage business and are all the more important today in the context of assessing the impact of climate and environmental risk on collateral values and therefore on consumers, lending institutions’ balance sheets and financial stability as a whole. AEV’s membership will be of valuable support for the EMF in understanding evolving valuation issues.”
Eduardo Serra, Chairman of the AEV commented:
“In our view, the EMF has a privileged position to provide the most valuable and reputable valuation expertise and knowledge for the EU Commission and Parliament. With this in mind, we are ready and eager to provide whatever analysis and practical insights the EMF might need. Since its foundation, the AEV has been very keen on finding ways to collaborate with the financial industry, in order to favour the development and issuance of better, safer and more transparent financing products, and so this new partnership with the EMF fits perfectly with our vision.”
