The European Mortgage Federation (EMF) is pleased to announce that Econans AB has become the latest institution to join the EMF as an Observer Member.

Econans AB is a Swedish green fintech partner that provides digital services for simulations and data gathering of energy consumption and energy efficiency actions. The services offered are based on research, statistics and financial regulations, combined with users’ own data. The platform also provides necessary data for the banks to analyse, report and improve their mortgage stock. Econans AB uses large quantities of data and artificial intelligence (AI) to help innovate its services and allow the development of cutting-edge solutions and customer experiences.

Commenting on Econans’ admission as a member, Luca Bertalot, EMF-ECBC Secretary General said:

“We are delighted to welcome Econans AB as an EMF member. The aims and objectives of Econans’ services to home owners and lenders in the Nordics are closely aligned with those of the EMF-ECBC-led Energy Efficient Mortgages Initiative (EEMI) and, as such, we look forward to sharing our knowledge and experiences to mutual benefit. Equally, Econans’ decision to join the EMF demonstrates the growing recognition of the need for all stakeholders active in the housing finance chain to join forces to meet the urgent environmental challenges facing the sector. ”

David Klamer, CEO of Econans AB commented:

“We are very pleased to join as an EMF member. We have been following their hard work during this last year and we really look forward to joining the discussions more actively. The climate challenge is global, and we strongly believe that by working together, exchanging good ideas and insights between different markets and type of companies, we will make a much greater impact.”
