Basel III Consultation
As those of you who were present are aware, the European Commission launched a consultation on the impact of the new Basel III rules as a first step toward transposing them into EU law. By way of the exploratory consultation, the European Commission will gather views about the impact of the amendments on the EU banking sector and the wider economy, and possible implementation challenges.
The consultation is part of a wider impact assessment to inform the Commission’s assessment of the changes ahead of their implementation into EU rules via amendments to EU regulations, namely the CRR. The deadline for feedback is 12 April.
Established in 1967, the European Mortgage Federation (EMF) is the voice of the European mortgage industry on the retail side of the business, representing the interests of mortgage lenders at European level.
