European Parliament Approves Own Initiative Report on Covered Bonds

On 4 July 2017, during its Plenary session in Strasbourg, the European Parliament formally approved the Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee’s Own Initiative Report on Covered Bonds (officially entitled “Towards a pan-European covered bonds framework”) as presented by the Rapporteur, Bernd Lucke MEP. The Report was approved with 543 votes in favour, 99 against and with 56 abstentions.
